Why is Nuwa a snake?
Let's start with an "old news". It was in the summer of 2002 that a female bone was found in Jixian County, Shanxi Province, more than 6,200 years ago. This matter was not a big deal, but later, 23 experts conducted "in-depth and meticulous" research on the bone, and then solemnly announced that it was the bone of Root Nuwa!
As soon as these words came out, the world was in an uproar. After a heated discussion, everyone agreed that these experts must have forgotten to take their medicine.
But the editor doesn't think so. You know, the story of Nuwa's creation of man has been passed down in China for thousands of years, and we have always regarded her as the common "mother" of the Chinese nation!
Nowadays, there are people who make such ridiculous inferences without any circumstantial evidence. What does this mean? It shows that the Chinese don't believe in God!
Of course, the words of the editor are biased. In fact, people still believe in God, such as believing in God, for example, being afraid of being struck by lightning, and so does the editor. So the belief in God here is only relative to other ethnic groups.
It is not difficult to find from historical records such as "Historical Records" that Chinese people worship their ancestors, which is influenced by the patriarchal system. However, when foreigners from foreign countries came to the Central Plains in the pre-Qin period, they brought their own "foreign gods".
At this time, there was a contradiction between the local Han ancestral worship and the foreign god worship. According to Mr. Zhu Dake's textual research, he believes that the Han culture has a strong tolerance and can absorb, resolve and dissolve all foreign civilizations.
So slowly, the foreign gods either disappeared on the spot or wore Hanfu. For example, the ethnology expert Rui Yifu once verified that the myth of Fuxi and Nuwa was very similar to the legend of the brother and sister of the Miao people.
This may be because the brother and sister myth of the Miao people was transferred, borrowed and perfected by the Han culture after it was introduced to the Central Plains. Of course, it is also possible that the Miao people have tampered with our Han myths.
But no matter what the situation is, it shows the same problem, that is, the strong compatibility of our Han culture.
At this time, the two advantages of our Han nationality stand out. One is ancestral worship, and the other is rationalism.
The significance of ancestor worship is that our ancestors are our own gods. Therefore, we no longer need to introduce other gods. And in many cases, our ancestors have been deified by us. For example, the emperor, we say that we are the descendants of the Yellow Emperor, and we say that the emperor is the leader of the tribal alliance in the Neolithic Age. At this time, the emperor was human. But when he called the wind and called the rain, "he met the Xuannu of the Nine Heavens," he became a god again.
The second is rationalism. We always want to find the birthplace and death point of those gods, so that we can better remember them. For example, the Mausoleum of Huangdi in Shaanxi, the Mausoleum of Yandi in Hunan, etc., there is a cave where a certain god lived, and the pine and cypress planted by himself.
We always want to pull God down from heaven and make him a real person. And everything he has lived and used is no longer a miracle, but a human miracle.
It is this rationalism that makes us no longer need God! No longer need faith! Just like the bone mentioned at the beginning, how great it would be if it really belonged to Nuwa. In this case, there is less god in the world, but there is more of a real "great man"!
