  World Social Work Day, also known as the International Social Work Day, referred to as World Social Work Day, International Social Work Day. The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) has determined that starting from 2007, one day will be selected every spring as "World Social Work Day". The first "World Social Work Day" was initiated by Dr. David Jones, President of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW). Its purpose is to solve problems for disadvantaged people in the community and contribute his love, knowledge and skills to those in need.
  Introduction to World Social Work Day
  On March 27, 2007, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), the organization's president, Dr. David Jones, advocated for the launch of the "First World Social Work Day" and organized a celebration together with the International Federation of Schools of Social Work (IASSW). The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) has selected a day as "World Social Work Day" every spring starting in 2007. 2008 was the second "World Social Work Day". The International Federation of Social Workers designated the anniversary on April 15 and organized a joint commemoration event with the International Federation of Schools of Social Work. In 2008, the International Federation of Social Workers officially declared April 15 to the United Nations as "International Social Work Day". Pending approval, World Social Work Day is observed on the third Tuesday of March, as decided by the International Federation of Social Workers at its annual IFSW plenary meeting in August 2008.
  China related activities
  "Promoting the Development of Social Work and Promoting the Progress of Human Well-being - 2008 World Social Work Day and Symposium on the 20th Anniversary of the Development of Social Work Education in China", organized by the China Association of Social Work and the China Association of Social Work Education, held at Peking University on April 15, 2008. Li Liguo, Vice Minister of Civil Affairs, said at the seminar that as a professional helping activities and profession, the social work profession has always adhered to the values of "helping others, self-help, caring, respect and equality". The China Association of Social Work and the China Association of Social Work Education are national industry organizations in the field of social work in our country. They have long been committed to solving social problems, helping disadvantaged people, and promoting social progress and development, and have played an important role in social and economic development. Zhao Pengqi, vice president and secretary general of the China Social Work Association, read out the proposal, which aims to promote the values of social work, promote the development of professional practice of social work and promote the construction of a harmonious society in China. It also proposes to establish "China Social Work Day" from next year in the name of the China Social Work Association and the China Social Work Education Association.
  On April 15, 2008, the first Social Work Awareness Week was held in Shenzhen. Due to the great influence of these two activities on the social work class in China, many people mistook World Social Work Day for April 15 every year for the next three years.
