How to choose red and sweet pomegranates?
We often see vendors selling red and large pomegranates, which makes us unable to resist. However, many people find that the pomegranates they buy are not as delicious as they had imagined. Most pomegranates are not delicious. Today, we will teach you how to choose a good pomegranate with sweet juice.
1. First look at the origin. In September, pomegranates from Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan, Zhaotong Prefecture, Dali Prefecture, Xichang, Sichuan, and Panzhihua are preferred for eating pomegranates; after October, pomegranates from Shaanxi, Henan, and Huaiyuan, Anhui are optional.
2. Don't choose round ones. Many people's first reaction when buying pomegranates is to get those round and smooth pomegranates. In fact, round pomegranates have thicker skins, but those pomegranates with protruding fruit edges that look like multilateral pomegranates are pomegranates with thin and mature skins and taste sweeter.
3. Look at the color. Common pomegranates on the market are red, yellow, and green. Some people think that the redder the pomegranate, the better. In fact, generally speaking, the lighter the skin color of the pomegranate, the redder and sweeter the seeds inside. On the contrary, if the skin is red and bright, the seeds inside will turn white and light. Because of the variety relationship, yellow pomegranates are generally the sweetest. Of course, there are some exceptions. The skin color is light yellow and red at all, and the color of the seeds after peeling is only light red, but all this does not affect its identity as a sweet pomegranate.
4. Weigh the weight. Two pomegranates of the same size have more relative water, more juice, and full grains.
5. Look at the skin color. The shiny skin and tight flesh are fresh pomegranates. The loose outer skin and dark spots may be caused by too long storage time. Of course, a little dark spot does not affect the quality of pomegranates.
6. Whether there are scratches. Mature pomegranates have been stored for a long time, the epidermis is not scratched, and the branches and leaves are relatively fresh. Hang in a ventilated and dry place, the epidermis is air-dried, and the grains inside will not lose water.
7. Normally open pomegranates are good pomegranates. Cracking pomegranates does not affect the taste under normal circumstances, but open pomegranates caused by rain, hot sun and other factors are not full enough.
