Installation of taxi meter sensors
When installing a taxi meter, eliminating the car's interference with the meter is the key to the success of the installation. However, the meters produced by various factories vary in their hardware design, arrangement, and selection of components, so the installation location, installation direction, and interference measures are also different. Here I introduce the general method for your reference.
Installation process
1. Preparation before installation
(1) Before installing the meter, check whether the car battery, electrical equipment, and various lights are in good condition, check whether the odometer has instructions and jitter, and check whether the high-voltage point wires are in good condition before installation.
(2) According to the charging standard of the rented car, adjust the charging mode of the meter, and the meter can only be used after passing the test by the local metering department.
(3) Adjust the K-value parameters according to the model of the rental car being loaded.
(4) Use the car battery to check whether the meter is working normally and whether the sensor is flexible. Check whether the empty license plate is flexible when flipped over. If the empty license plate light is not on when turned over, it will be on when standing up.
Step 2 Install
(1) Installation of sensors
The interface of the sensor is different for different models, so it should not be used indiscriminately. The general principle is: the sensor should be installed between the odometer and the gearbox, and it is best to install the sensor directly at the exit of the gearbox without disconnecting the flexible shaft. The flexible shaft cannot have a dead bend or be S-shaped, and its radian radius should be greater than 20cm. The sensor should try to avoid the high pressure point YC system, high temperature zone and easy water inlet position.
(2) Install the meter
The meter should be installed in a position that is convenient for the driver to operate, does not affect the driver's line of sight, avoids possible sun exposure to the meter, and is convenient for passengers to observe.
(3) Install empty license plates
In an appropriate position in front of the windshield, fix it with glue or self-tapping screws so that it can flip freely.
(4) The whole machine is connected
Connect according to the color provided in the manual or the sub and female plugs.
II. Sources of interference
After the meter is installed on the taxi, various measures are taken to prevent interference, which is also a difficult problem for technicians to solve. The interference in the car probably comes from some of the following parts.
1. The high-voltage ignition line is not a damping line.
2. The charger rectifier (mechanical or silicon rectifier) will cause interference. If it is not silicon rectifier, the interference will be greater. The wiring should be as short as possible and the grounding (tie) should be reliable.
3. Car horns cause interference.
4. Wipers, air conditioning.
5. Car headlights, side lights.
III. Use, maintenance and precautions of taxi meters
The use of the taxi meter is relatively easy and the operation is simple. There are only two actions of flipping the empty license plate and pressing the button. But when it comes to maintenance, pay attention to the following aspects:
1. When operating, move gently and in place. Do not use too much force to avoid damaging the meter. When it is found that the feel is wrong, it should be repaired in time to prevent the expansion of the fault range.
2. Pay attention to dust, water, and cleanliness. When driving in various environments, dust, water, and moisture cannot be eliminated. However, by wiping frequently and keeping it clean, the service life of the meter can be extended.
3. Pay attention to prevent sun exposure. In hot summer, try to park the car in a cool place. Generally, the storage temperature of the meter is -40 ° C~ + 70 ° C. The shell of many meters is plastic, and too high temperature will cause the shell to deform.
4. Taxi drivers should have some simple maintenance knowledge, and manufacturers should also take the initiative to publicize common faults such as blown fuses and bulbs.
