The reporter learned that although since May 1 last year, driving on mobile phones, smoking, eating, throwing objects, etc. have been included in separate penalties, such violations are still repeatedly banned. Since May 1 this year, there have been 1,500 electronic snaps of using mobile phones while driving in Licheng District alone.
At 8 p.m. on November 5, the traffic police in Licheng received a report that a pedestrian had been injured in a traffic accident near Lijiacun Primary School, causing the vehicle to flee. After arriving at the scene, the police found a man lying in a pool of blood and in critical condition. After 120 arrived, the man was immediately sent to the hospital for treatment.
According to witness Jiang, he was walking home with his uncle along Jiuding Tower Road from south to north. When he reached Lijiazhuang North Village, a silver-gray pickup truck came behind him. Jiang ducked to the left side of the road, and his uncle Jiang Mougong (56 years old) hid on the right side of the road. As soon as he ducked to the side of the road, he heard a bang, and then saw his uncle Jiang Mougong fall to the ground. However, the driver of the accident did not get out of the car and drove away on the spot. Due to the darkness and the speed of the car, Jiang did not see the vehicle number plate, so he quickly called the police. However, the injured man Jiang Mougong died due to his injuries.
After the accident, the traffic police in Licheng immediately set up a special task force to fully investigate the case. The police retrieved surveillance video around the incident, and after more than ten hours of hard work, they finally locked a small truck as the vehicle responsible for the accident. By retrieving the driving records of the car on November 4 and November 6, the police found that there were obvious contrasts between the right reflector and the right headlight of the car on the day before and the day after the accident. It can be preliminarily determined that the car is a serious suspect.
On the morning of the 7th, the police came to the home of the suspect Li, but there was no one at home. After phone contact, Li said that he was working outside and could not go home. The police then agreed to meet with him at Li's home at 8 o'clock the next day. But on November 8th, Li missed his appointment again. Then the police explained the seriousness of the matter to Li again on the phone and advised him to go to the accident squadron for investigation. On the morning of November 9th, Li surrendered to the accident squadron. It is understood that the reason why Li did not surrender was because he had undertaken the welding project and was afraid of delaying his work progress and affecting his income.
According to Li, the driver of the accident, on the day of the accident, he was driving a pickup truck along Jiuding Tower Road from south to north near Lijiacun Primary School when a WeChat message suddenly came to his mobile phone. Just as he looked down at WeChat, he only heard a "bang", and the right mirror of the truck was knocked down.
Li said that he thought he hit a light pole on the side of the road at that time, so he didn't care. He just rolled down the window, pulled down the mirror and put it in the car and went home to sleep. The next day, when Li's relatives visited his house, they told Li's mother that someone had been killed near Li Jiacun Primary School. But Li said that he didn't expect it to be the person he hit at that time. It was not until the police called Li to ask him to cooperate with the investigation that he knew that he had not hit a light pole that day. It is understood that Li, the driver of the hit-and-run pickup truck, will take full responsibility for the accident.
