Online shopping for diamond rings refuses to deliver men's diamonds
A man in Brisbane, Australia, recently bought a two-carat diamond ring for his fiancée for 1,110 Australian dollars (approx. 5,810 yuan) online, but was told by the store that the price of the diamond ring was wrong, and the real price was 34,000 Australian dollars (approx. 178,000 yuan). The store refused to ship it. The man later took the diamond ring company to court and eventually won the case.
According to reports, Australian man Nicholas Boot recently bought a two-carat diamond ring from Sydney Royal Diamond Enterprises Limited through an online store, but the store refused to ship it and said the price of the ring was wrong, and the real price should be 34,000 Australian dollars.
Nicholas then took legal channels to sue the company. After winning the lawsuit, the defendant expressed dissatisfaction and appealed. As a result, 2nd-round Moderation still upheld the original judgment and demanded that the company immediately deliver the goods, in addition to compensating the plaintiff for legal costs and bearing 15,000 Australian dollars in legal fees.
The diamond company's manager said: "This lawsuit is going to shut down the company, we need to make this diamond ring and close the door." The manager said that anyone knew that a two-carat diamond ring could not be sold for only A $1,100. "I can't believe the judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff."
