It is a white crystalline solid, soluble in water and organic solvents.1H-benzotriazole-7-carboxylic acid is mainly used in the synthesis of chemical intermediates, such as in the synthesis of various organic dyes, fluorescent whitening agents and plastic additives. It can also be used as a metal corrosion inhibitor and light stabilizer.
The preparation method of 1H-benzotriazole-7-carboxylic acid is generally obtained by the reaction of 1H-benzotriazole-7-amine with acid. Common acid catalysts include acetic acid, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid.
