63317-89-5 - brief introduction
4- (4-hydroxybutoxycarbonyl) benzoic acid, also known as 1,4-benzoic acid, 1- (4-hydroxybutyl) ester, is an organic compound.Nature:
Appearance: It is a white crystalline or crystalline solid.
Solubility: It has low solubility in water and dissolves well in organic solvents such as ethanol, chloroform, and xylene.
Purpose:
- 4- (4-hydroxybutoxycarbonyl) benzoic acid can be used as an intermediate for polyester resins to prepare high-performance polyester resins, such as polyester elastomers, polyester coatings, etc.
In the dye and pigment industry, it can be used as a synthetic dye intermediate for the preparation of organic pigments.
It can also be used as an additive for high-efficiency lubricants to improve the performance of lubricants.
Production method:
The preparation of 4- (4-hydroxybutoxycarbonyl) benzoic acid is generally carried out by transesterification reaction. P-hydroxybenzoic acid is reacted with p-hydroxybutanol to form butyl p-hydroxybenzoate. Then, butyl p-hydroxybenzoate and acetic acid are used as catalysts for transesterification to produce 4- (4-hydroxybutoxycarbonyl) benzoic acid.
Safety information:
4- (4-Hydroxybutoxycarbonyl) benzoic acid is unstable at room temperature and easily decomposes. It is necessary to avoid high temperature and sun exposure when using and storing. Appropriate protective gloves and eyes need to be worn when handling. In industrial production and operation, relevant safety operating procedures and protective measures need to be followed.Last Updated: 2024-04-10 22:29:15
