Studies have shown that 20-carboxy arachidonic acid produces vasorelaxation of porcine coronary microvessels constricted with endothelin. Additionally, 20-carboxy arachidonic acid binds to and activates the isolated ligand binding domains of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα, K|d|= 0.87 ± 0.12 μM) and PPARγ (K|d|= 1.7 ± 0.5 μM).
