N-(Azido-PEG3)-NH-PEG3-acid HCl salt is a PEG derivative with a terminal azide group and terminal carboxylic acid. The azide group can participate in Click Chemistry. The terminal carboxylic acid can be reacted with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. EDC, or DCC) to form a stable amide bond. The hydrophilic PEG linkers increase the water solubility of the compound in aqueous media.
