PEG-bis-Thiol, MW 5K is a PEG derivative with two thiol groups. The thiol group can react with maleimides, disulfides, haloacteamides and other thiols. The hydrophilic PEG linker makes the compound more water soluble in aqueous media. Increasing the number of PEG subunits in a chain also enhances the PEG linker's water solubility properties.
