Extinction Coefficient: 2.6 A heparin-neutralizing protein which is contained in platelet storage granules. Platelet Factor 4 is released during aggregation, but its actual role in normal or abnormal hemostasis is unknown. Prepared from platelets shown to be non reactive for HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA-required tests.
