CH2COOH-PEG-Succinimidyl Carbonate, MW 5K is a PEG derivative with a terminal carboxylic acid and a succinimidyl carbonate group. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amines in the presence of activators such as EDC and DCC to form stable amide bonds. The succinimidyl carbonate group is a good leaving group and commonly reacts with amine nucleophiles. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the compounds water solubility in aqueous media.
