Ald-Ph-PEG24-acid is a PEG derivative containing a benzaldehyde moiety and a terminal carboxylic acid. The benzaldhyde can react with primary amines. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with amines in the presence of activators such as EDC and DCC to form stable amide bonds. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the solubility of compounds in aqueous media.
