m-PEG3-Sulfone-PEG2-acid is a PEG derivative containing sulfone and carboxylic acid moieties. The sulfone can be reacted with thiol groups of proteins. The terminal carboxylic acids can be reacted with primary amines in the presence of activators such as EDC and DCC to form stable amide bonds. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the water solubility of the compound in aqueous media.
