TCO (transcyclooctene) PEG Thiol (TCO-PEG-SH) is one of Nanocs’ copper free Click Chemistry PEG crosslinkers that contain a terminal TCO and a thiol group linked through a linear PEG chain. TCO PEG thiol can react with tetrazine group via copper free click chemistry. Click chemistry reaction of TCO and tetrazine is a bioorthogonal reaction that enables the conjugation of two molecules in aqueous solution fast and efficiently. Meanwhile, sulfhydryl (thiol) group can react with many thiol reactive groups, such as Maleimide and pyridyldisulfide. It can also bind to the surface of gold particles with high affinity. Compared to other click chemistry reagents, TCO PEG derivatives possess fast kinetics and have excellent water solubility; all reactions can be carried out in aqueous buffer without need adding any organic solvents.
