Description Trovitch Mn-Precatalyst [((Ph2PPr)PDI)Mn] is a formally zerovalent manganese complex, containing phosphine-substituted PDI (pyridine diimine) ligand. This hydrosilylation reagent can be synthesized by the reduction of (Ph2PPrPDI)MnCl2. Its electronic structure has been studied. Trovitch Mn-Precatalyst is also reported to mediate the dihydrosilylation of esters.Mn-complex was commercialized in collaboration with Ryan Trovitch and coworkers. This complex has shown to be effective in the hydrosilylation of ketones and esters.
