ATP is consumed and light is emitted when luciferase catalyzes the oxidation of D-luciferin. Application: Adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP) assay mix has also been used to measure the level of cellular ATP in ATP viability assay. The ATP assay kit has been used to measure the level of cellular ATP present in isolated mitochondrial fractions from L. donovani promastigotes.
