N-Tos-N-(t-butoxycarbonyl)-aminoxy-PEG4-Tos is a PEG derivative containing tosyl, boc and aminoxy moieties. Tosyl is a good leaving group and can also act as an alcohol protecting group in organic synthesis. The t-Boc protecting group can be removed under acidic conditions which allows for the amine group to be further reacted. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the water solubility of the compound to further enhance the water solubility of the compound in aqueous media.
