Kinetics of homogeneous reaction of carbon dioxide (CO2) with 1-dimethylamino-2-propanol in water has been investigated using stopped-flow technique. 1-Dimethylamino-2-propanol solution may be used in the synthesis of the following: . novel unsymmetrical 2,3,9,10,16,17,23-heptakis(alkoxyl)-24-mono(dimethylaminoalkoxyl)phthalocyanine compounds . homoleptic nickel(II) aminoalkoxide .
