Anisatin

CAS number:5230-87-5    molecular formula:C15H20O8

overview

compound introduction

Anisatin, a pure toxic substance isolated from the seeds of a Japanese plant ( Illicium anisatum ) acts as a picrotoxin-like, non-competitive GABA antagonist. Anisatin suppresses GABA-induced currents in a concentration-dependent manner with an EC 50 of ~1.10 μM. In Vitro Anisatin inhibits [ 3 H]diazepam binding enhanced by either GABA or pentobarbital, without affecting the basal specific binding to rat brain membranes. MCE has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only. In Vivo In mice, the LD 50 reported for anisatin ranges from 0.76 to 1 mg/kg (po and ip) . MCE has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only. Form:Solid
