Rhenium(IV) oxide is a crystalline solid that adopts a rutile structure. It can be used as a catalyst, and additive in the fabrication of superconducting ceramics. The layers containing ReO2 can be used to protect dielectric layers, inter-connects, and ferroelectric capacitors.
