Feprazone is noted to be structurally similar to phenylbutazone and has been utilized in research studies analyzing the induction of cytochrome P-450. Feprazon was also reported to induce the P450 2B family of cytochromes. Metabolization of Feprazone by CYP2B is reported to occur at two positons on the side chains of the compound through a molecular modeling of the interaction of the Feprazon and mammalian CYP2B.
