Photolysis and thermolysis of 1,4,5,6,7,7-hexaphenyl-7-silabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride (XIb) may lead to the formation of hexaphenylsilacyclopentadiene.
