4-甲基噻唑与钴(II)、锌(II)、镍(II)和铜(II)卤化物形成络合物医药、香料中间体。 4-甲基噻唑被用于合成催化的dendrophanes，作为硫胺二磷酸依赖性酶丙酮酸氧化酶的功能模拟物。它被用于3-丁基-4-甲基噻唑鎓溴化物的小规模制备 4-Methylthiazole forms complexes with cobalt(II), zinc(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) halides. 4-Methylthiazole was used in the synthesis of catalytic dendrophanes, as functional mimics of the thiamine-diphosphate-dependent enzyme pyruvate oxidase. It was used in small scale preparation of 3-butyl-4-methylthiazolium bromide.
