Altemicidin 是一种单萜生物碱，最初从 S. sioyaensis 中分离出来，具有杀螨和抗癌活性。在温室盆栽试验中，浓度为 10 和 100 ppm 时，该物质对二斑蜘蛛螨 (T. urticae) 具有杀螨作用。Altemicidin 可抑制小鼠 L1210 淋巴细胞白血病和 IMC 癌细胞的生长（IC50s 分别为 0.84 和 0.82 μg/mL）。该物质对小鼠有毒性，LD50值为 0.3 mg/kg。
