生化机理

催化 2 个焦磷酸法呢基 (FPP) 分子缩合形成角鲨烯。分两个不同步骤进行。在第一个半反应过程中，两个 FPP 分子发生反应，形成稳定的预喹啉二磷酸中间体 (PSQPP)，同时释放出一个质子和一个无机二磷酸分子。在第二个半反应中，PSQPP 与 NADPH 或 NADH 发生异分解、异构化和还原反应，生成角鲨烯。它是甾醇生物合成途径中的第一个酶。
