介导晚期糖基化终产物（AGE）的相互作用。这是一种非酶糖基化蛋白质，随着年龄的增长会在血管组织中积累，在糖尿病患者中会加速积累。在动脉粥样硬化等情况下，尤其是在糖尿病并发症中，AGE/RAGE 是急性和慢性血管炎症的介质。AGE/RAGE 信号在调节 TNF-α、氧化应激和 2 型糖尿病内皮功能障碍的产生/表达方面起着重要作用。与内皮、单核吞噬细胞和淋巴细胞上的 S100A12 相互作用会引发细胞活化，产生关键的促炎介质。心肌梗死后与 S100B 相互作用，可能通过激活 ERK1/2 和 p53/TP53 信号在心肌细胞凋亡中发挥作用（相似）。淀粉样 beta 肽受体。有助于淀粉样 beta 肽（ABPP）在大脑皮层神经元中穿过细胞膜，从细胞外转移到细胞内。ABPP 引发的 RAGE 信号传导，尤其是 p38 丝裂原活化蛋白激酶（MAPK）的刺激，能够驱动运输系统将 ABPP 作为与 RAGE 的复合物运送到神经元内空间。
