蜂蜡是由蜂群中适龄工蜂腹部的四对蜡腺分泌出来的一种脂肪性物质，蜜蜂用它来修筑巢脾，封闭饲料封盖。分黄、白颜色两种。有蜂蜜样香气，味微甘。不溶于水。溶于热乙醇、乙醚、油类。应用于医药：丸剂、软胶囊、膏乳；文具：油墨、蜡纸、铅笔；日化：鞋油、上光蜡、蜡乳剂、地板蜡、蜡像、蜡染；家具：工艺雕刻、石材抛光；航天：电子、军工。 Beeswax is a natural wax that is formed from honeybee Apis mellifera.
