当存在胆汁时，可用于快速检测七叶苷水解，从非 D 群链球菌中鉴别 D 群链球菌。D 群链球菌将七叶苷水解为七叶内酯和葡萄糖。七叶内酯与铁盐如柠檬酸铁等反应形成黑棕色络合物。 Used for rapid detection of esculin hydrolysis in presence of bile for differentiating group D streptococci from non-group D streptococci . Group D streptococci hydrolyzes the esculin to esculetin and dextrose. Esculetin reacts with an iron salt such as ferric citrate to form a blackish-brown colored complex.
