肾脏中的电解质和液体运输受到花生四烯酸及其代谢产物的部分调节。（±）16-HETE是在血管紧张素II刺激下由肾脏释放的花生四烯酸的少量CYP450代谢产物的外消旋体。16-HETE的生物活性是立体特异性的。16（R）-HETE剂量依赖性地刺激兔肾的血管舒张，并且不影响灌注压力。在浓度为2 µM时，16-HETE的（S）-对映体可抑制近端小管ATPase活性多达60％，而（R）-异构体对ATPase活性的影响可忽略不计。 Electrolyte and fluid transport in the kidney are regulated partially by arachidonic acid and its metabolites. (±)16-HETE is the racemic version of a minor CYP450 metabolite of arachidonic acid released by the kidney upon angiotensin II stimulation. The biological activity of 16-HETE is stereospecific. 16(R)-HETE dose-dependently stimulates vasodilation of the rabbit kidney, and does not affect perfusion pressure. At a concentration of 2 μM the (S)-enantiomer of 16-HETE inhibits proximal tubule ATPase activity by as much as 60%, while the (R)-isomer has negligible effects on ATPase activity.
