5-溴水杨醛可与1,2-双-（4-氯-2-氨基苯氧基）乙烷反应，生成席夫碱配体1,2-双（2-（5-溴-2-羟基亚苄基氨基）-4-氯苯氧基）乙烷。它是合成二芳基氨基取代的N-四甲基四氢呋喃配体的起始试剂. 5-溴水杨醛可用于聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯（PET）薄膜和PET支架中胺定量过程中的化学衍生化. 5-Bromosalicylaldehyde reacts with 1,2-bis(4-chloro-2-aminophenoxy)ethane to yield Schiff base ligand 1,2-bis(2-(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzilidenamino)-4-chlorophenoxy)ethane. It is the starting reagent for the synthesis of diarylamino-substituted N-methyl tetrahydrosalen ligand It was used for chemical derivatization during amine quantiifcation in poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) film and PET scaffold.
