Dieugenol 是一种新木脂素，存在于 N. leucantha 中，具有抗氧化和抗原虫活性。在无细胞测定中，它抑制硫代巴比妥酸反应物质 (TBARS) 的形成并清除超氧化物阴离子，但不清除羟基自由基。它对克氏锥虫无鞭毛体和锥鞭毛体具有抗锥虫活性（IC50s 分别为 15.1 和 11.5 μM），但对 NCTC L-929 成纤维细胞具有细胞毒性，50% 细胞毒性浓度 (CC50) 值为 58.2 μM。Dieugenol (15 μM) 会破坏克氏锥虫锥鞭毛体质膜的完整性，但不会在锥鞭毛体或 LPS 刺激和未刺激的分离小鼠腹膜巨噬细胞中诱导活性氧 (ROS) 的产生。
