1,2-Distearoyl-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphoethanolamine (DSPE) and PDP conjμgated Polyethylene Glycol is a heterobifunctional PEG derivative that can undergo reaction with sulfhydryl group. DSPE PEG is an 18 carbon phospholipid PEG conjμgate which has both hydrophilicity and hydrophobility. PDP (pyridyldithiol propionate) is reactive toward free thiol group to form cleavable disulfide bond. Pegylated phospholipids are excellent liposome formation materials that can be used for drμg delivery, gene transfection and vaccine delivery as well. Pegylation of phospholipids significantly improves the blood circulation time and stability for encapsulated drμgs.
