可广泛应用在核磁共振造影、抗HIV药物、抗癌药物、化疗药物、化妆品添加剂和科研等诸多领域。用途：在富勒烯上引入羟基的目的是为了提高富勒烯的水溶性，但是只有当羟基的数目达到20个以上时才具有较好的水溶性。富勒醇难溶于丙酮、甲醇，可溶于DMF。化学性质上与富勒烯性质差不多。羟基数目较少的时候也可以发生1,3偶极环加成反应。富勒醇可以强力吸收自由基、抑制化学毒物毒性、抗辐射、防紫外光伤害、重金属细胞损伤防护、抗细胞氧化、抗细菌感染、吸收自由基从而可以保护细胞免受各种损伤。可广泛应用在核磁共振造影、抗HIV药物、抗癌药物、化疗药物、化妆品添加剂和科研等诸多领域。
