1α-Hydroxy-3-epi-vitamin D3, a natural metabolite of 1alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, is a potent suppressor of parathyroid hormone ( PTH ) secretion. In Vitro 1 alpha, 25(OH)2D3 is an important negative regulator of parathyroid hormone (PTH) gene transcription. In ROS 17/2.8 cells, 1α-OHD3 (10 μM) not only metabolized into 1αOH-3-epi-D3 and 1α,25(OH)2D3 but also 1α,25(OH)2-3-epi-D3. MCE has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods.
