为粘多糖的分解酶，可水解组织基质中的主要成分透明质酸，增加组织的通透性，从而促使皮下输液和局部积贮的渗出液或血液的吸收。临床可用于加速皮下、肌肉注射药液的吸收，促进局麻药的浸润，减轻注射部分疼痛，促进手术及创伤后局部水肿或血肿的消散。透明质酸酶在β-D-GalNAc-(1→4)-β-D-GlcA键处裂解透明质酸，产生3-(4-deoxy-β-D-gluc-4-enuronosyl)-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine 四糖或六糖。该酶专一作用于透明质酸，对软骨素（chondroitin）和硫酸软骨素（chondroitin sulfate）无活性。 透明质酸酶广泛存在于自然界。在人体中，它存在于不少器官和体液中。透明质酸酶见于病毒、噬菌体、真菌和细菌的分泌物。它还存在于线虫和蚂蟥的分泌物中。蛇和蝎子的毒液中会产生透明质酸酶。蜜蜂、蜘蛛、黄蜂、大黄蜂、毛虫、鱼类和蜥蜴也会分泌透明质酸酶。 cas：37259-53-3 应用 透明质酸酶（来自Streptomyces hyalurolyticus）已用于：制备DMEM/F-12（杜氏改良Eagle培养基/营养混合物F-12）培养基，用于从分离肿瘤组织中分离和纯化单细胞；作为消化液组分，用于从睾丸组织获得生殖干细胞。 Hyaluronidase is widely present in nature.In humans, it is present in a number of organs and body fluids. Hyaluronidase is found in the secretions of virus, bacteriophage, fungi and bacteria. It is also present in nematode and leeches secretions. Snakes and scorpions produce hyaluronidase in their venom. Hyaluronidase is also secreted by bees, spiders, wasps, hornets, caterpillars, fishes and lizards. Application Hyaluronidase from Streptomyces hyalurolyticus has been used:in the preparation of DMEM/F-12 (Dulbecco′s modified eagle medium/nutrient mixture F-12) media for the isolation and purification of single cells from dissociated tumour tissue；as a component of digestion solution for the derivation of germline stem cells from testicular tissue.

透明质酸裂解酶在β-D-GlcNAc-(1→4)-β-D-GlcA键上切割透明质酸，得到3-(4-脱氧β-D-葡萄糖-4-烯基糖基)-N-乙酰基-D-葡糖胺四糖和六糖。与其他透明质酸酶不同，该酶对透明质酸具有特异性，并且对软骨素和硫酸软骨素无活性。透明质酸酶属于内切糖苷酶，通过配合β-葡糖醛酸酶和β-N-乙酰氨基葡萄糖苷酶等外切糖苷酶完成其内切功能。透明质酸酶调节透明质酸的周转代谢。
