Applications include: 1.Lipase catalyzed transesterification of prochiral pyrimidine acyclonucleoside. 2.Lipase catalyzed hydrolysis of diacetylated pyrimidine acyclonucleosides. 3. Enantiomer selective acylation of racemic alcohols in continuous-flow bioreactors. Lipase PS, from Burkholderia cepacia is a lipase preparation, manufactured using recombinant bacteria. Lipase PS, from Burkholderia cepacia is generally used in the enantioselective transesterification and hydrolysis. Applications include: Lipase catalyzed transesterification of prochiral pyrimidine acyclonucleoside. Lipase catalyzed hydrolysis of diacetylated pyrimidine acyclonucleosides. Enantiomer selective acylation of racemic alcohols in continuous-flow bioreactors. Characteristics 1. Optimum pH: 8.5 2. pH stability: 4.0-11.0 3. Optimum temperature: 55-70°C 4. Thermal stability: up to 55°C 5. White to light yellowish brown powder 6. It is one of the most useful and versatile catalysts in chiral synthesis, especially for resolution of secondary alcohols. 7. It is active in both water media and organic solvents, but only soluble in water.
