应用： (+)-MK-801马来酸盐已被用于以下实验研究：将其对小鼠注射给药，以研究CIQ[(3-氯苯基)(6,7-二甲氧基-1-((4-甲氧基苯氧基)甲基)-3,4-二氢-2(1H)-异喹啉基)甲酮]全身给药对MK-801刺激的精神分裂症样行为的作用。它已被用于阻断NMDA（N-甲基-D-天冬氨酸）受体介导的rtPA（重组组织型纤维蛋白酶原激活剂）增强的兴奋毒性途径。以不同剂量注射给药，研究MK-801对斑马鱼（Danio rerio）行为表现的改变。作为NMDA受体拮抗剂，研究3-OH-GA通过NMDA受体诱导的神经元损伤。
