肥大细胞（Mast cell）的发现已有百余年的历史，它来源于未分化的间充质细胞，是疏松结缔组织内常见的细胞，常成群的沿着小血管和淋巴管分布，也常见于支气管和胰腺的小叶间导管周围，一般细胞较大，直径约为 20-30μm，呈圆形或椭圆形，胞核较小、胞质内充满粗大且具有异染性嗜酸性颗粒。醛品红-橙黄G染色机理在于醛品红对含有硫酸基团的酸性黏多糖物质有很强的亲和力，肥大细胞颗粒中含有羧基和硫酸根的肝素，所以易与醛品红结合呈复合物而着色；橙黄G属于酸性染料，可把其他组织成分染成黄色。肥大细胞染色液（醛品红-橙黄G法）能够显示异染性颗粒，染色后肥大细胞颗粒被染成紫色或深紫色，其他细胞多不着色，背景呈橙黄色，对比较为鲜明。组分表 M774861
