对光、热和空气稳定。极微溶于冷水。热水中溶解度约0.5%。溶于三氯甲烷、苯、环己酮、乙醇、醚和四氯化碳等多种有机溶剂,溶于无机酸水溶液、乙酸和氨水。能与Ce4+、Fe3+、Ti4+、UO 、VO 和Ca3+等形成有色配合物,配合物不溶于水,可被三氯甲烷等有机溶剂萃取。 用作光度法测定钒、钛、铀、和钼等的显色剂,沉淀分离和称量法测定铝、铍等的沉淀剂。用于三氯甲烷萃取分离Zr4+、Hf4+、VO+、NbO-、CrO 、MoO 、WO2-、Sn4+、Sb3+、Bi3+、Ce4+和Fe3+等的萃取剂。还用作配合滴定金属指示剂 The mechanism of the reaction of N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine with vanadium(IV) was studied
