In the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of R-isopropylcinnamic acid derivative, a key intermediate of renin inhibitor aliskiren. In the Rh-catalyzed conjugate addition of arylboronic acids to lactones, enones, and nitroalkenes.
