It binds IgG from most mammalian species and some IgA and IgM through the Fc region. Recombinant protein A, "PAII" is produces in E. coli using animal free media. The recombainat form has the cellbinding domain removed, for reduced nonspecified binding and leakage. PAII is supplied as a lyophilized white flocculate. The purity of PAII is determined by SDS- PAGE, which generates one single band at 42 kDa. The activity is tested by interaction with human igG. The product is to be used for laboratory work only.
