来源于芽孢杆菌的蛋白酶已被用于通过分光光度法测定其蛋白水解活性。应用：蛋白酶广泛存在于自然界，微生物是这些酶的良好来源。它们分为四类，即天冬氨酸、丝氨酸、半胱氨酸和金属蛋白酶。 Proteases are ubiquitously found in nature and microbes are the desired source for these enzymes. They are classified into four classes namely aspartic, serine, cysteine and metalloproteases. Application: Protease from Bacillus sp. has been used to determine its proteolytic activity by spectrophotometric method.

生化机理

蛋白酶通过肽键的水解使蛋白质分解代谢。蛋白酶可被丝氨酸活性位点抑制剂所灭活，如苯甲基磺酰氟（PMSF）和二异丙基氟磷酸盐。芽孢杆菌分泌的蛋白酶分子量通常为20,000至30,000。Ca 2+ 通常对它们有稳定作用，它们的等电点较高。它在较宽的pH 值和温度范围内易溶于洗涤剂。蛋白酶可通过高效地清除伤口的坏死物质而改善愈合过程。它广泛应用于衣物清洗剂，用于清除衣物上的蛋白质类污迹。此外，蛋白酶也用于食品、药物、皮革和丝绸行业。它是生物药物产品（包括隐形眼镜酶清洁剂和酶清洗剂）的关键成分。蛋白酶也促进多个生理过程，如蛋白质更新、消化、凝血、受精和细胞分化。它也促进生长、细胞信号传导、免疫反应和细胞凋亡。
