It may be used for developing differential staining techniques in nerve tissue preparations.

生化机理

HRP易与过氧化氢（H 2 O 2 ）结合，所得[HRP-H 2 O 2 ]配合物可氧化各种氢供体。最佳pH为6.0-6.5，酶在5.0-9.0的pH范围内最稳定。HRP可以通过几种不同的方法与抗体结合，包括使用戊二醛、高碘酸盐氧化、二硫键以及氨基和巯基定向交联剂。它比酶标签，β-半乳糖苷酶和碱性磷酸酶更小、更稳定。因此，它是最理想的标签。而且，糖基化使其非特异性结合较低。它还用于测定溶液中的葡萄糖和过氧化物。已发现叠氮化钠、氰化物、L-胱氨酸、重铬酸盐、亚乙基硫脲、羟胺、硫化物、钒酸盐、对氨基苯甲酸、以及Cd 2+ 、Co 2+ 、Cu 2+ 、Fe 3+ 、Mn 2+ 、Ni 2+ 、铅 2+ 等离子可抑制其酶活性。灭活的过氧化物酶可与山羊和兔子的抗过氧化物酶发生反应。它可以通过多种方法被重新激活，例如加热。
