Allocholic Acid is also described as 5α-Cholic acid, differing from Cholic acid by an inverted stereocenter at the 5-position on the steroid core. The compound has been observed to inhibit ATP-dependent TCA transport across plasma membrane vesicles from Sf9 cells expressing rat or mouse bile salt export pump.
