在真空下升华为针状晶体。味极甜,糖精的稀水溶液比食糖约甜500倍，稀释至1∶100000仍有甜味，约比甘蔗甜500倍。易溶于碳酸碱溶液，溶于乙醇、丙酮，微溶于氯仿和乙醚。1g溶于290ml水、25ml沸水、31ml乙醇、12ml丙酮和约50ml甘油，微溶于氯仿和乙醚。0.35%水溶液pH为2。最大吸收波长（0.1mol/L氢氧化钠溶液）267.3nm（ε1570）。有致癌和致遗传损害可能性。 Usually used in high performance liquid chromatographic method for the simultaneous separation and determination of acesulfame potassium, saccharine and aspartame;and also used in sweet preference test of rats.
