丙二酰辅酶四锂盐是丙二酰辅酶A的有用制剂，用于体外研究辅酶。丙二酰辅酶A存在于克隆胰腺细胞的葡萄糖刺激的胰岛素分泌中。它还为脂肪酸提供两个碳单元，从而使分子参与脂肪酸链的合成。丙二酰基辅酶A是通过将乙酰辅酶A与乙酰辅酶A羧化酶羧化而产生的。 Malonyl coenzyme A tetralithium salt is a useful preparation of Malonyl-CoA for studying the coenzyme in vitro. Malonyl-CoA is found in glucose-stimulated insulin secretion from clonal pancreatic cells. It also supplies two carbon units to fatty acids which commits the molecules to fatty acid chain synthesis. Malonyl coenzyme A is created by carboxylating acetyl CoA with the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase.
