KW-2478是一种新型、强效的非Ansamycin热休克蛋白90（Hsp90）抑制剂，可以克服17-烯丙胺基-17-脱甲基格尔德霉素（17-AAG）低水溶性和肝毒性的不足。KW-2478对各种染色体易位的多发性骨髓瘤（MM）细胞具有很强的抗肿瘤活性，其中，KW-2478抑制与Hsp90受体蛋白降解和IgH易位产物（包括FGFR3，c-Maf和cyclin D1）减少相关的细胞生长与凋亡。最近的研究结果表明，KW-2478能够耗尽Hsp90受体蛋白Cdk9（一种转录激酶）和磷酸化4E-BP1（一种转录抑制剂），从而下调c-Maf和cyclin D1的表达。
