Eptifibatide has a short half-life. The drug decreases the risk of myocardial infarction (MI). Eptifibatide acetate might be associated with thrombocytopenia. Eptifibatide acetate is a selective inhibitor of Integrin alpha IIb ( platelet glycoprotein IIb) /Integrin beta 3 (platelet glycoprotein IIIa) receptors.
